Workforce Development
The Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce knows that to be successful in business,
you have to have good employees. That’s why we are involved in numerous
initiatives to develop the workforce in Skagit County.
Work Readiness Credential: The Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the National Work Readiness Credential to be a testing center and pilot city for the rollout of this innovative exam. The exam would test job-seekers soft skills and offer a credential to signify to potential employers that they are ready to work. Learn more at www.workreadiness.com.
Cascade Job Corps: The Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Information Center is a work-based learning site for Job Corps students who are interested in business and the community. We hope that all students who help out here will learn valuable customer service skills that will help them as they advance their careers.
The Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce partners with Worksource Skagit and the local school systems to make sure that students and job seekers have accurate knowledge about the business climate in our region.
