Mount Vernon School District holding logo design contest for newest elementary school
Harriet Rowley Elementary school seeks your help as they are nearing the home stretch to finalizing the school’s identity. This fall, the school selected its official school colors: teal, gray, and black; followed by a student-voted school mascot, the orca. In its final step of the process, the Mount Vernon School District is now accepting logo designs for considerations to identify the new Harriet Rowley Elementary School mascot. Anyone with a creative eye and a passion for design may submit an innovative and professional logo concept. All ideas are welcome, but logos should be recognizable and help promote the school’s newly selected colors and mascot.
The elementary school’s principal, Patricia Shanander is excited to be completing the process and finally have an official school identity. “It is exciting to be a part of a diverse community where there are so many talented local artists,” said Shanander. “Now that we have a mascot, students and staff are eager to find out what our logo will be. We look forward to submissions that embrace the history of our community and represent the hope we have in a bright future.”
Submissions will be reviewed and selected by a committee and presented to the Superintendent and Board of Directors for approval. If selected, the winning design will be awarded a $500 prize and public recognition for their design at an official unveiling.
For consideration, all designs must be submitted no later than 5pm on February 24, 2020.
