Google Trends Research Shows Charitable Intent on the Rise during Covid-19
Despite the dissent on the news, Google Trends data suggests that by and large users nationwide are seeking out ways to support their communities, how to assist health care workers, and how to donate to organizations in need.
For those who might not be familiar with Google Trends, it provides insights into what users are searching on Google Search and its other products. This data can be used for a ton of different applications.
Marketers can use Google Trends to gauge interests in products by region, and politicians might use Trends to see what national issues are important to the public. In a nutshell, it lets you review the “search interest” of whatever phrase you put into it, showing you an approximation of how often that phrase was searched over time.
The last few weeks have been rife with anxiety, grim news, and financial strife. Despite the stress, one uplifting highlight has been monitoring Google Trends data and seeing the huge upticks in searchers looking for ways to support their communities.
