EDASC taking special measures to host its annual golf tournament fundraiser

EDASC is taking special safety precautions as it plans to host its 33rd Annual EDASC Golf Tournament & 19th Hole Virtual Awards Dinner on July 24, 2020, at Avalon Golf Links.

The most visible change will be to its awards dinner, which is going virtual. Instead of forming a large group at the end of the day to eat, announce tournament winners, and award raffle prizes, golfers will instead get their dinners to-go and the ceremony will be heald at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom. Tournament results and raffle winners will be posted online as well.

The rest of the tournament will look largely the same except for some added social-distancing measure in place for check-in and elsewhere, said EDASC CEO John Sternlicht.

"Given that golf takes place in foursomes, we are confident we can meet the public health requirements to safely host the tournament in late July," Sternlicht said.
