Holiday Traditions Continue at Christianson’s Nursery

Giving Thanks For A
Bountiful Harvest
"Be present in all things and thankful for all."
- Maya Angelou
A new tradition of gift-giving with Christianson’s Nursery!
Holiday traditions – whether culinary, religious, craft-making, or musical – contribute to our sense of comfort and belonging and are a timeless way for families and friends to gather together and reconnect. Now, as the season slows to a wonderfully nostalgic pace, we hope that you continue to embrace the tried-and-true traditions as well as create new ones including our Holiday Online Open House.
View our curated list of amazing local artists and shop owners who have traditionally set up booths throughout our wintered Greenhouses. Here, you can preview their products and shop from their sites by either clicking on the link to their virtual store or contacting them directly.
Thank you for supporting these local artists and small businesses!
"Fall Is For Planting"
3-Part Video Series
We are pleased to introduce our new 3-part educational gardening video series "Fall Is For Planting." In each easy-to-watch video, we cover simple methods of instruction to prepare you for fall planting.
The first videos of the series, "Fall Is For Planting: Bulbs & Tubers" features Nurseryman, John Christianson and Certified Professional Horticulturist, Lily Hirdler as they plant spring-blooming bulbs such as tulips and daffodils, as well as peony bulbs in the Potting Shed. Learn which characteristics to look for when buying healthy bulbs, which bulbs naturalize (and which do not), and at what depth to plant different sizes of bulbs, such as tiny Crocus or jumbo Allium. And, enjoy a bonus video exclusively on paperwhites!
Tune in to our Instagram or Facebook pages every other week for videos from The Potting Shed, and other Nursery locations and listen to John on his weekly radio broadcast, "The Garden Show" on KAPS AM 660, or FM 102.1.
Our holiday theme this year is 'Joy to the World' and we invite you to join in the fun as we celebrate the wonderful array of cultures and seasonal traditions across the globe, with colorful displays that feature ornaments, crafts, and cuisine from nearly every corner of the world.
We are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and welcome you to visit and experience our “across the globe” displays here in Primrose, the Garden Store and the Conservatory. Primrose will have expanded holiday hours on Fridays: opening at 8:30 am and staying open until 6 pm every Friday from November 1st through December 23rd.
Best wishes for a safe and happy Thanksgiving
from all of us here at Christianson's!
