Cascadia Eye gets new partner
Cascadia Eye and Cascadia Surgical are proud to welcome new business partner Charles Maddux, MD, to the team. Dr. Maddux started as an ophthalmologist and surgeon at the practice in August, 2020 and now joins Dan Siapco, MD, and Carlindo DaReitz Pereira, MD, as a full owner of the comprehensive eye care practice and surgical center.
Dr. Charles Maddux is a talented ophthalmologist and eye surgeon with a special interest in cataract surgery, as well as refractive lens and retinal care. His passion is to help patients become independent from glasses. Because of his friendly, accessible manner and meticulous skill set, he is a favorite with patients. His leadership as a new partner will bring a new perspective and additional cataract, retinal and surgical expertise to the practice.

Dr. Maddux works from three offices: Sedro-Woolley, Stanwood and Mount Vernon.
Education
Dr. Maddux graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine, where he also tutored students in pathophysiology. He interned at the Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, and completed his residency with Loma Linda University Health, where he worked in five different medical centers, including a VA and two county hospitals.
While in residency, Dr. Maddux treated a wide variety of patients with advanced pathology and developed excellent surgical skills. He has a special interest in refractive lenses that can help patients become independent from glasses.
Experience
Dr. Maddux is experienced in minimally invasive glaucoma surgery such as the iSTENT and the Kahookm, skilled in minor lid surgeries, including blepharoplasty and lesion excisions, and also performs laser surgeries, including YAG lasers, SLT, and other procedures for the retina. In addition to his surgical offerings, he is also available for primary eye care and comprehensive medical eye exams.
Family and Personal Passions
Dr. Maddux loves hiking, kayaking, scuba diving, and snowboarding with his wife, Cynthia, and his two dogs, Kona and Umbo. He went on a mission trip to India in early 2020 and is eager to continue to perform medical mission work in the future.
