WECU Partners with Skagit County Fair to Host 9-Hole Mini Golf Course

WECU, a not-for-profit credit union is thrilled to announce its partnership with the Skagit County Fair to present a 9-hole mini golf course at this year's fair. The Skagit County Fair will be held from August 8 through 11, and WECU's exciting new attraction aims to blend fun with financial education for fair attendees of all ages.

WECU's mini golf course, offered as a complimentary amenity, will feature nine creatively designed holes, each paired with a sign presenting a simple yet valuable financial lesson. This initiative allows families to mix learning with fun as they navigate the course, making financial literacy accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

"We're excited to bring this unique experience to the Skagit County Fair," said Keith Mader, Director of PR at WECU. "Our goal is to provide an engaging way for families to learn about financial principles while enjoying a round of mini golf. It's a wonderful opportunity to connect with our community and support financial education."

In addition to the mini golf course, WECU will provide custom scorecards for every golfer, offering a chance to win prizes for the best scores each day in three age categories. Children aged 5-12 can also look forward to receiving free money activity books, enhancing their understanding of money management in a fun and interactive way.

This marks the second consecutive year WECU has sponsored the Skagit County Fair. Last year, WECU successfully hosted a photo scavenger hunt throughout the fairgrounds, which was met with great enthusiasm from participants.

"We're grateful for WECU's continued support and innovative contributions to the fair," said Frances Negranza, Assistant Manager for the Skagit County Fair. "Their commitment to integrating financial literacy with entertainment aligns perfectly with our mission to provide enriching experiences for our attendees."

Fairgoers are encouraged to visit the WECU mini golf course to enjoy a round of golf, learn valuable financial tips, and compete for daily prizes.
