Mayor Boudreau to Serve on Legislative Committee
Mayor Boudreau has accepted an invitation to serve on the Association of Washington Cities (AWC) Legislative Priorities Committee.
The Mayor was appointed by AWC President Ed Stern on June 1st because of her valued participation on other AWC committees. The Legislative Priorities Committee exists to develop and review ideas for legislation, and recommends legislative priority issues and positions for cities in Washington State.
“This committee appointment provides me with an even better opportunity to let our state lawmakers know what is most important to the residents of Mount Vernon, and other cities in our state,” Mayor Boudreau said.
Examples of AWC legislative priorities in past years include topics such as affordable housing, economic development tools, criminal justice training, and behavioral health systems.
The term begins immediately, and will continue through December of 2021.
