Alaska USA Foundation raises record funds for annual Cash for Cans® fundraiser
Alaska USA Federal Credit Union members and corporate partners contributed record breaking funds in support of the Alaska USA Foundation’s annual Cash for Cans® donation drive.
Alaska USA Federal Credit Union and the Alaska USA Foundation teamed up for the fundraiser, collecting cash donations at Alaska USA branches during the month of September, National Hunger Month. The event raised more than $107,000, and with a donation by the Alaska USA Foundation, the total was $140,000, which will assist numerous food banks and pantries in Alaska, Maricopa County in Arizona, the High Desert region of California, and Washington state. The donation totals for each state are:
Alaska—$60,000
Arizona—$20,000
California—$26,000
Washington—$34,000
“In a year like 2020, we are so grateful for our partners that help us magnify our fundraising efforts and support the communities we serve,” said Dan McCue, executive director, Alaska USA Foundation. “Through the generosity of our corporate partners, as well as our members, we are able to support organizations that help feed families and children who struggle with food insecurities.”
