Skagit Women in Business Announces The Great Skagit Scavenger Hunt – Fun with a Purpose – to Benefit the SWIB Scholarship Fund

The Great Skagit Scavenger Hunt will be held Friday, April 16 - Sunday, April 18 to benefit the Skagit Women in Business scholarship fund. While many charitable fundraisers have been sidelined or gone virtual, The Great Skagit Scavenger Hunt allows individuals and teams to participate in COVID-safe activities and challenges, with the opportunity to earn points, win prizes and donate money to a good cause — scholarships for local women who have experienced a break in their education.

“We’ve all been stuck inside with not much to do for a long time. Now that spring is here, The Great Skagit Scavenger Hunt offers friends and families some fun activities to do together that are COVID-friendly yet also raise funds for scholarships. It’s fun with a purpose. What’s better than that?” said Frannie Bigge, event chairperson.

Challenges on the list of more than 100 possible activities range from something as simple as mailing a postcard to a family member in another state or buying a gift card from a local business, to something as challenging as choreographing a team dance to perform in public on a street corner or in the park. Other examples include: seeing who on your team can hula hoop the longest; picking up trash at a local park; or watching the sunset. Each activity is awarded points and must be documented with photos to be submitted to the event organizers online. Top point-getters win prizes. Actual prizes are TBD.

As most of the Challenges are not tied to a particular location, participants may live anywhere in the United States. Registration closes at midnight on Thursday, April 15.

Entry fees are $30 for adults, $15 for youths aged 5 - 17. Children under 5-years-old are free.

100% of entry fees go to the SWIB Scholarship Fund.
