Alaska USA Donates to Nonprofit Providing Support to Military and Veterans
Supporting military servicemembers, their families and veterans has been the goal of Alaska USA Federal Credit Union since its inception in 1948. In support of this goal, a $12,500 donation was made to Operation Homefront. These funds will be divided in Alaska, Arizona, California and Washington so Operation Homefront can continue to be the provider of choice for military families needing short-term relief, long-term resiliency and recurring family support programs and services.
For over 15 years, Operation Homefront has provided programs that offer: Relief (through critical financial assistance and transitional housing programs), Resiliency (through permanent housing and caregiver support services) and Recurring Family Support programs and services throughout the year that help military families overcome the short-term bumps in the road so they don’t become long-term chronic problems.
In addition to financial support, Alaska USA employees will have the opportunity to volunteer in their community by writing encouragement letters, hosting a school supplies drive and providing volunteer support at the Back to School Brigade and Holiday Meals for Military.
