Skagit Finally Returns to In-Person Fundraisers for Local Youth

Exciting local fundraising events are finally being scheduled as things begin reopening in Skagit. This August, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Skagit County are hosting two of their annual fundraisers for Skagit youth- the 25th Annual Golf Tournament for Great Futures and Keys for Kids.

The 25th Annual Golf Tournament is being held at Avalon Golf Links on Friday, August 13th, 2021. The Golf Tournament is the Boys & Girls Club’s first in-person fundraising event since November 2019. The much anticipated return to in-person events is being sponsored by multiple local businesses- namely Blade Chevrolet and RVs, the event’s title sponsor. There will be raffle prizes, mini games, and opportunities to support Skagit youth. Sponsorship levels and golf team slots are still available on the Boys & Girls Clubs of Skagit County’s website at https://skagitclubs.org/events/golf-tournament/.

The second fundraising event will be their annual two-night event, Keys For Kids, happening on Friday, August 27th and Saturday, August 28th. Each night will feature the infamous musical attraction of dueling pianos. The Boys & Girls Club is hosting new musical talent this year, bringing in pianists from the Seattle-based group, Felix and Fingers. These evenings are generously sponsored by Marathon Petroleum. This raucous event will include dinner, drinks, and an audience that decides the music. For more information or to reserve a table, contact Shelby Munson.

As a precaution, both events will have limited attendance and food will be served individually or by table to ensure less COVID-related risks. The Boys & Girls Clubs are very excited about the opportunity to see their donors and families in-person once again. “[W]e are all so very excited by the return to in-person events starting with our Golf Tournament and Keys for Kids this August.” Ron McHenry, CEO of Boys and Girls Clubs of Skagit County stated, “We look forward to seeing our friends and stakeholders that have supported Clubs from a distance during the pandemic, and celebrating the continued advancement of our mission, despite the circumstances."
