Skagit Valley Giant Pumpkin Festival at Christianson’s Nursery

2021 Skagit Valley Giant Pumpkin Festival and Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off, Saturday, September 18, 2021, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., Christianson’s Nursery, 15806 Best Road, Mount Vernon.

Christianson’s Nursery is an official weigh-off site for the Giant Pumpkin Commonwealth (GPC), an international organization, who is sanctioned to submit giant pumpkin world records. Last year’s pumpkin grown by Joel Holland shattered the Nursery’s record and weighed in at over 1900 pounds! The Weigh-Off is sponsored by the Pacific Northwest Giant Pumpkin Growers with Gordon Skagit Farm, Coastal Farm & Ranch, Skagit Valley Food Co-op.  Registrations for the official Weigh-Off are being accepted from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.  This year the community votes for the prettiest and the ugliest pumpkin and prizes will be given away during short intermissions. Be sure to bring your exhibition veggies and sunflowers! Beautiful Face Painting and a balloon fairy ($5, cash only) will be onsite from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. along with bluegrass music, the A-maze-ing Hay Maze hosted by Mount Vernon’s Camp Korey, toad races, and old-fashioned carnival games in the greenhouse until 4 p.m. Enjoy seasonal bites by Waffles in Paradise and coffee drinks and refreshments by Beaver Tales Coffee.
