North Coast Credit Union surpasses 20,000 members
North Coast Credit Union continued its steady membership growth in 2021, surpassing 20,000 members for the first time.
According to its recently released annual report, North Coast Credit Union had 20,027 members on Dec. 31, an increase of 7.7% last year and 45.5% since 2014. Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Washington state.
“Residents and businesses in Skagit and Whatcom counties recognize our mission is to help them thrive,” said Marilyn Brink, president and CEO of North Coast Credit Union. “We strive to make financial self-sufficiency achievable and communities stronger by looking for opportunities to say ‘Yes’ to members and future members.”
North Coast Credit Union has six branches in Mount Vernon, Anacortes, Sedro-Woolley, Bellingham (2) and Ferndale. As of Dec. 31, its total assets rose 17.7% in 2021 to nearly $380 million and North Coast funded $77 million in loans.
During the annual meeting, Jair Furnas and Randall Watts were re-elected to North Coast’s board of directors and Kailin James was re-elected to the Supervisory Committee.
