Cascadia Eye Hires Award-Winning Optometrist
Cascadia Eye introduces Roy Gordon, OD, our newest optometrist, who will be seeing patients in our Coupeville, WA clinic starting in February 2023.
Education and Specialties
Dr. Roy Gordon joins Cascadia Eye with specialty training in ocular disease, post-operative care, and contact lens fittings. He received his optometry degree from the University of Missouri St. Louis, and has affiliations with the Optometric Physicians of Washington and the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Gordon has been in private practice as an optometrist on Whidbey Island since 2012 and has won the Whidbey News-Times “Best of Whidbey – Eye Care Professional” award since 2019. He is passionate about providing great service to his patients and his community.
In his words, “I consider myself fortunate to belong to the Whidbey Island community and provide eye care to those who live and work here as well. Optometry is a dynamic profession that is constantly evolving, but it’s the ability to support each patient in a primary healthcare setting I find the most invigorating.”
Family and Personal Passions
Originally from Dayton, Ohio, Dr. Gordon enjoys running, camping and exploring the Pacific Northwest and Canada. He is married to his wife, Nicole, who is a native Whidbey Islander. Together they stay busy parenting their son and Bernedoodle.
Dr. Gordon has participated in humanitarian missions to the Atacama Desert in Chile through Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH) and OneSight, and plans to use his optometry skills to support local and international service projects in the future.
