Boys & Girls Clubs of Skagit County’s Annual Breakfast presented by TRICO Was a Success!

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Skagit County had a successful return to in-person programming for their Annual Breakfast, on March 15th, raising over $80,000 for Club programs. Almost every seat was filled as the community was welcomed back to McIntyre Hall Performing Arts & Conference Center for the first time since 2019 to hear about the Clubs’ plans for the upcoming year and celebrate the Members’ accomplishments.

The Annual Breakfast presented by TRICO is the Boys & Girls Clubs of Skagit County’s signature event to start each year and look forward to the exciting things that are coming up. With over 200 people in attendance, the event started with a Welcome from the Board Chair of the Boy & Girls Club of Skagit County, Rob Martin.

The remainder of the Breakfast was highlighted by two Junior Youth of the Year speakers, who spoke about how the Clubs have impacted them followed by a Community Partnership Address by TRICO’s President, Christopher Kiel, who discussed the importance of local business support to further Skagit County’s future generations. The President and CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Skagit County, Ron McHenry, then spoke of the State of the Clubs and future projects, and how LEGO® has been a critical part of the Clubs’ recent success.

The Breakfast also featured the Boys & Girls Clubs of Skagit County’s Youth of the Year, River Valencia, who will compete at the State Competition in Olympia and Seattle on March 23rd. River spoke about the Clubs’ Core Value of Acceptance and how the Club has been a singularly welcoming place. The Breakfast culminated in a discussion of Building Great Futures, led by Board Chair-Elect, Kristen Keltz.

The Annual Breakfast event is part of the Boys & Girls Clubs’ Annual Campaign to Build Great Futures. Anyone who wishes to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Skagit County and Build Great Futures for Skagit youth is invited to learn about programs, volunteering opportunities, or donate at www.skagitclubs.org.
