City of Mount Vernon Meet & Greet Open House
The City of Mount Vernon is providing an opportunity for community members to meet the two finalists for the Mount Vernon Police Chief position.
A meet-and-greet reception will take place at the Mount Vernon Police Department Multi-Purpose Room (1805 Continental Pl.) on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The two finalists will be interviewed in various sessions throughout the day on January 23rd, culminating in the community reception. After initial introductions and brief remarks from the finalists, members of the public will be free to mingle and chat with the candidates. The public will have the option to leave written comments at the event.
The months-long search for a new Chief has been planned well in advance, as current Mount Vernon Police Chief Chris Cammock announced his 2024 retirement last year. Cammock has diligently served the residents of Mount Vernon throughout his remarkable 35-year career with the Department.
