Mount Vernon Downtown Association
The Mount Vernon Downtown Association (MVDA) is a nationally accredited and Washington State certified Main Street organization. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization representing approximately 250 businesses within an eight-block area of the downtown business corridor, the MVDA mission is to cultivate a vibrant and prosperous downtown while preserving its historic character, to preserve and grow the place where community connection happens. In addition to supporting the retention and recruitment of businesses in the district, the MVDA promotes the downtown as a place where the community comes together with pride through events and other place-making initiatives. As part of the Washington State Main Street Program under the Washington Trust for Historic Preservation, the MVDA follows the National Main Street Program's four-point approach: design, outreach, economic vitality, and promotion.
